It's complicated ...

Today's sermon is week three of the series, It's Complicated.

We are focusing on what does the Bible say about dealing with complicated people. The Bible does not leave us guessing about how to deal with complicated people but gives us some beautiful guidelines, so join us as we unpack what the Bible has to say about complicated people.

This series gives us a great opportunity to invite our friends who don't normally attend church.

If you are watching online, the 8am service is on Facebook Live and the 10am service is on YouTube Live.

Practicing the Way

As apprentices of Jesus we are called to practice His way.

To do this we need to be with Him which will result in us becoming like Him and doing what He did.

Spiritual formation is a slow, deep, cumulative work that takes years, not weeks.

On 18 May we will be beginning a series that explores this topic.

Then on the four Wednesdays in June we will have an opportunity to select one practice to focus on - what we call "intensives" - a bit of a spiritual boot camp to help us dig deeper. At these intensives there will be teaching, practicing and talking about our chosen spiritual practice. This will help us be available to God and to His formation of us.

These intensives are to get us started on a journey of a lifetime, giving us a map for the journey ahead and hopefully some possible companions for the Way.

Prayerfully select one of the intensives and stick with it for the four weeks.

- Sabbath
- Generosity
- Fasting
- Scripture

- Solitude (An Online and Not in person Group)

Young Adults will be doing these same intensives on a Thursday evening in the Youth Centre

Then click on the link below to sign up!

We are encouraging as many of us as possible to take part - Life Groups are encouraged not to meet in June and to attend the Practicing the Way Intensives.

Why do we give?

There's a beautiful reminder about why we give back to God. This verse can be found in 1 Chronicles 29:16, but it is worth reading the whole chapter. David was physically building a temple, but we are busy building God's church in Westville, Durban and the world.

But me—who am I, and who are these my people, that we should presume to be giving something to you? Everything comes from you; all we’re doing is giving back what we’ve been given from your generous hand. (The Message)

Home Ground Church's finances rely on the faithful tithing from those who consider this church to be their spiritual home.

Giving is not just a financial transaction; it is a spiritual discipline that aligns our hearts with God's purpose and allows us to be active participants in the plans He has.
