Thanksgiving Baskets

Over the past 3 years, we have assisted families during the thanksgiving holiday by collecting food supplies, coordinated the assembling of the meals, and distributed the thanksgiving baskets. We have not only helped meet the needs of some families of our congregation, but we also have assisted families in the schools we partner with and the Artisan apartments.

The first year we did about 20 baskets. Last year we did nearly 75. And this need has continued to grow. We are anticipating the need for about 90 baskets this year. We always want to be a church that is about displaying the love of Christ whenever we are given the opportunity.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • If you are in need or know of a family here at the church in need of assistance, please click the link below and we will connect with you.
  • If you are able to help assemble and/or distribute the Thanksgiving baskets, click the link below and we will connect with you.
  • You can donate items to do in the baskets. The list is below. Collection boxes will be in the foyer November 9-10 and 16-17
  • You can donate cash to buy a turkey

October - December Church-Wide Devotional Scriptures:

THE “ONE ANOTHERS” PASSAGES

The phrase “one another” is derived from the Greek word allelon, which means “one another, each other; mutually, reciprocally.” They are specific commands teaching us how (and how not) to relate to one another. Obedience to these commands is imperative. It forms the basis for all true Christian community and has a direct impact on our witness to the world (John 13:35).

POSITIVE COMMANDS

NEGATIVE COMMANDS

(HOW NOT TO TREAT ONE ANOTHER)

  • Do not lie to one another (Col 3:9)
  • Stop passing judgment on one another (Rom 14:13)
  • Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other (Gal 5:26)
  • Do not slander one another (Ja 4:11)
  • Do not grumble against one another (Ja 5:9)

We do all this because we are in a real sense “members of one another” (Romans 12:5, Ephesians 4:25)
