New Sermon Series Continues this Weekend

This week we started a new series called Oneness Embraced. This series continues our theme of community and connection in our church. Because we know that God wants us to not just attend church but for the church be a place where we interact and engage with one another (Neighborhood vs Community). And we all need that. We need someone in our lives who is genuinely interacting with us but also spiritually sharpening us showing that they care about us and want to see us get better.

The bible uses this common phrase to describe how we interact: One Another. Over 28 times we see this phrase: Love one another, Forgive one another. Accept one another, etc,. This is a command for each of us. But the challenge that we must face is, Am I connected to somebody close enough to live out the one another principles in that relationship. This is the challenge as we embrace the idea of oneness?

Join us each week as we continue our series. The interactive sermon notes are back in the app. Edit, save, and share your sermon notes all on your smartphone. Don’t have the app yet? Download it today in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Man Up

Our Man Up huddles are the first Saturday of each month with guest speakers, table discussions, in-depth Bible study, prayer, and praise and worship. Our Man Up gatherings kick off at 7:30 am and are open to all men.

This month our guest speaker will be Leroy Harrison from Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. This is a great opportunity to grow some genuine relationships with other men in our church family. So men, if you’ve never come to one of the Man Up gatherings or if you are a regular, we hope to see all of you at our 1st Saturday gatherings.

October - December Church-Wide Devotional Scriptures:

THE “ONE ANOTHERS” PASSAGES

The phrase “one another” is derived from the Greek word allelon, which means “one another, each other; mutually, reciprocally.” They are specific commands teaching us how (and how not) to relate to one another. Obedience to these commands is imperative. It forms the basis for all true Christian community and has a direct impact on our witness to the world (John 13:35).

POSITIVE COMMANDS

NEGATIVE COMMANDS

(HOW NOT TO TREAT ONE ANOTHER)

  • Do not lie to one another (Col 3:9)
  • Stop passing judgment on one another (Rom 14:13)
  • Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other (Gal 5:26)
  • Do not slander one another (Ja 4:11)
  • Do not grumble against one another (Ja 5:9)

We do all this because we are in a real sense “members of one another” (Romans 12:5, Ephesians 4:25)
